This year’s Create & Cultivate conference kicked off on Friday, 9/20 with a speaker dinner hosted by Alaska Airlines followed by a full day of mentoring sessions, fireside chats, networking opportunities, and more on Saturday, 9/21.
San Francisco is historically C&C's largest event of the year. Sponsors include Bumble, Dyson, LaCroix, Supergoop, Biossance, Alaska Airlines, Mastercard, and more. This is also C&C's second time hosting a small business, female-owned marketplace within the conference and sponsored by Mastercard, which will be tapping local SF business owners to showcase on-site
Kourtney Kardashian closed out the conference with a keynote moderated by her close friend, Allison Statter, Co-Founder of Blended Strategy Group. On starting Poosh, Kourtney’s lifestyle website and e-commerce destination the CEO and Founder said, “I feel like a big thing for me is to only take on something that my heart and soul are really in. I didn’t feel motivated to do something unless I was all in—if it was fulfilling, added to my life, and made me happy. That’s where Poosh came along.”
Jenna Dewan sat down with fellow boss woman Jaclyn Johnson, CEO and Founder, Create & Cultivate for an honest conversation on healthy relationships and getting through the tough times, “Grief is its own thing. You have to move through it, you have to feel it, you have to love yourself while you’re feeling it. Know you’re not gonna feel this way forever. The dawn will break.”
Sessions included “Status Quo No Mo”, a conversation about the current state of work/life balance for women; and “Swipe Up”, a panel about how to create compelling content in a clickbait world.
Other celebrities in attendance include Rumer Willis, Giuliana Rancic, Cindy Eckert, Arielle Vanderberg, Ali Fedotowsky, Lauryn Bosstick (The Skinny Confidential), Ally Maki, Casey Goode (Quigley), Michelle Lee (EIC of Allure), Gail Becker (Founder & CEO of CauliPower).
Founded by CEO Jaclyn Johnson, Create & Cultivate has taken place all over the country, including Atlanta, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Chicago and continues two times a year, nationwide. The event hosts 1500 + women and sells out within weeks of launching. Past speakers include Kim Kardashian West, Martha Stewart, Issa Rae, Ashley Graham, Chrissy Teigen, Lauren Conrad, Tia Mowry, Jessica Alba, Mandy Moore, Gloria Steinem, Rachel Zoe, Nicole Richie, Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle, and many more.
